The Bertram Chamber of Commerce Mission Statement:
The Bertram Chamber of Commerce is not your “ordinary” chamber, which typically is totally devoted to business interests. The active promotion of existing businesses and the procurement of new commerce rate highly among our list of priorities, but we also strive for a broader involvement in our city and area. Since there are no other service organizations in Bertram, our chamber tries to meet the various needs of the community. The Chamber seeks to better our community environment by supporting various annual and special events and supporting the city in its efforts to enhance the community’s appearance and promote economic growth. We request the participation and fellowship of all local citizens and businesses. Working together we can create a positive community environment that will enhance both the business and private sectors.

Chamber Meetings and Activities
The Bertram Chamber of Commerce meets the 2nd Monday of each month for a luncheon ($5) meeting at 11:30am at the Senior Citizen Center, at the corn of Vaughn and Gabriel streets. If a holiday falls on the 2nd Monday, the meeting moves to the third Monday.
The Chamber supports just about every activity in the City, either with manpower or funding or both. The Chamber also spearheads several projects including Keep Bertram Beautiful, City-wide clean-ups twice a year, various school activities, the Veterans’ Day Parade, and Donkey Day (our alternative to Groundhog Day), the Austin Cycle Association “Armadillo Hill Country Bike Ride”, and Railfair. The Chamber was instrumental in founding our annual Olde Tyme Christmas Festival, which is now in its 7th year. Our goal is to increase our activities as Bertram grows.
Twice a year, in conjunction with the City’s Bulk Trash Days, Chamber members come together to clean up Bertram by helping citizens that are unable to help themselves with clean-up projects both large and small.
The Chamber of Commerce helps lead the way in supporting and recognizing the excellence of Bertram Elementary School. Each year the Chamber assists Farmers State Bank with the Back to School Luncheon, honoring all the school staff. Pictured is new staff for 2008.
Chamber members pose with the mascot for the annual Armadillo Hill Country Bike ride. Each year Bertram’s Chamber hosts the rest stop for the Austin Cycle Association’s event, which brings over a thousand riders to the area. The Austin cycle Association repays the hospitality of the Chamber by hosting a bicycle safety program each year for Bertram Elementary’s 3rd Grade Class, and they give a free helmet to each of the kids.
